• Problems setting up echo mail

From Heisenberg@1:103/705 to All on Wed Sep 17 09:14:50 2025
    Hey Everyone,
Im new to Synchronet after being out of the BBS scene for many years, and im having trouble setting up echomail

I have subscribed to a few Sub Boards that belong to fsxnet, and some of them have been importing some messages. But none of the messages that i post seem to be exporting, and and my upstream host, isnt seeing any echomail packets coming from me.

    What could be causing this.

    regards,
    Michael

First step, check your your sbbsecho.log file to make sure the messages were exported (to FTN packets and/or bundle files). If you see that they were, then check your mailer (BinkIT? You didn't say) logs to see if the packets or bundles were sent to your uplink successfully.

    Hi there,
    thanks for your reply.
Im using BinkIT, and i didnt know it kept a seperate logfile. I thought messages from BinkIt were in the SBBS Log?

    regards,
    Michael

Outbound BinkIT connections will go into your event thread log output (that would be copied to your data/events.log file if running a recent release of Synchronet). If running Synchronet for *nix as a deamon, the event thread log output as goes to syslog. If running Synchronet for Windows, the event thread log output also goes in the "Events" tab of the Synchronet Control Panel.
