• TICKIT Configured TicFilePwd is empty

    From Basis@1:103/705 to All on Tue Jul 1 07:58:01 2025
    Hello,
    Been troubleshooting this one for a few days. I'm trying to get files processed with tickit from an FTN. The files get to my fido\inbound correctly. I have a password configured in echocfg for ticfilepwd, and confirmed it's there under the node in sbbsecho.ini.

    [node:21:4/100@fsxNet]
    Name = fsxNet
    Comment =
    Archive = ZIP
    PacketType = 2+
    PacketPwd =
    AreaFix = true
    AreaFixPwd = MYPW
    SessionPwd = MYPW
    TicFilePwd = MYPW

    What I'm seeing is:

    7/1 07:48:02a TICKIT Parsing ../fido/inbound\0th2942p.tic
    7/1 07:48:02a TICKIT Configured TicFilePwd is empty, but TIC file has a password, node: 21:4/100
    7/1 07:48:02a TICKIT Configured TicFilePwd is empty, but TIC file has a password, node: 21:4/100@fsxnet
    7/1 07:48:02a TICKIT No password matched for sender 21:4/100 or 21:4/100@fsxnet.
    7/1 07:48:02a TICKIT Please check the defined password for this sender.

    I have other FTN confiruations that seem to work ok using the same setup.

    I'm wondering where maybe to look as I'm out of ideas.

    Thanks!

    The problem (a frequent one with TickIT) is that "21:4/100" is not the same address as "21:4/100@fsxnet". Either remove the domain from the linked node configuration in echocfg or add it to the tickit cfg (if it supports 5D addresses, I don't remember).

    Not completely sure this will help, but I'd suggest removing the
    "@fsxNet" from the Node Definition block. It's not required and I think
    it can cause problems. Do you have the fsxNet zone specified in a
    [domain] block in your sbbsecho.ini file?

    Removing the @fsxNet solved the issue. Many thanks! I think that's put in there by default from echocfg, so maybe that could be removed somehow in future versions.

    I have:
    [domain:fsxnet]
    Zones = 21
    DNSSuffix = fsxnet.nz
    NodeList =

    But haven't changed that - only removing @fsxNet. Still working on automatically extracting the nodelists from the FTN files automagically - but struggling on getting it to work with nodelist_handler.js - one step at a time.

    Thanks again!
