    And you're creating the file as all lowercase "answer.msg"? in the sbbs/mods/text directory, all lowercase? What if you create sbbs/mods/text/answer.asc or answer.ans instead - any difference?

    What answer.* files exist in your sbbs/text directory?

    I don't really have any theories. Hopefully someone else can chime in with "it works" or "it doesn't work" for them as well.

    Other follow-up questions: Do other files in your mods directory work as expected? What about the mods/text/menu directory - if you create a file there, does it take precedence over the sbbs/text/menu directory?

    You have SCFG->System->Advanced->Mods Directory set to "../mods/" (the default)?

    I dont have a /mods/text/menu/ directory - I wasn't planning on changing menu files yet. Is this required to use /mods/text/ only?

    Re Mods directory - yes set to ../mods/ (the default)

    I asked you what answer.* files exist in your sbbs/text directory. You pasted a directly listing from your mods/text directory.

    No. But it might be a good experiment (to create the mods/text/menu directory and create a file there to see if it works).

    Ah - now I've created a /sbbs/mods/text/menu/ it now displays the file in /sbbs/mods/text/
