I see new callers sometimes alt-h during this question or just give an BS answer like never@no.com for example. Some sysops might require a real email, some might have it set to not even ask and some might just want an email if the user wants to share.
When a new user logs on sync has an option in scfg > new user prompts > email/netmail addy > [Yes/No].
It would be a nice to have [Yes/No/Option] in this config seting to allow the user to give an email or not.

So maybe like an optional prompt "Do you wish to provide your email or netmail address"? And if the user answers Yes, then the address has to be valid? It'd be helpful created an issue at gitlab.synchro.net and save the request/suggestion there or if you describe it in more detail here I can create an issue and paste the details there.
