But there's "ignorance" and "willful ignorance". Most of these people started off as just ignorant. If you had gotten to them at that stage, educating them would be easy and effective.

But now they are willfully ignorant. They don't WANT to know the truth. Because it would prove them wrong and they can't handle that. So they will strongly resist you if you try to cure their ignorance. Just look at what happened to Charlie Kirk.
