• mystic forum door

From Daniel@3:770/3 to All on Sat Nov 23 06:23:16 2024
    Hi folks -

I'm waist deep on designing ansi screens for my upcoming bbs. The
platform of choice has been nudging toward mystic but a few questions
    have arisen.

Most bbs time is spent on the bottomless abyss bbs and, lately, I've
been doing rounds on other boards where I have memberships. Some
synchronet boards have a 'forum' that, upon examination, are styled like
web forums where you go into a topic, select a post, and the original
message is listed with all replies threaded below it. This gets my
    juices going.

From what I hear, mystic doesn't have such a 'forum' door. Is it
possible to load such synchronet software on a mystic board? Or would I
have to stand up a synchronet board alongside my mystic to enjoy this
    feature?

This may appear like a straight forward question but I have no
    experience as a sysop.

    Thanks

    Daniel

I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to here, unless it's something like this:

Mystic does indeed have that same feature. Take a look at the "message index" reader thing, as I'm not sure it's a default setting or not. The menu item command would be 'MI - Message Index Reader', though.

Hopefully that's something in the realm of what you were asking for, otherwise I just typed out a bunch of junk you didn't need. :)

Gotta learn somewhere, and you've come to the right place!

No. If you ever get a chance to connect to the following bbs's, they
    have examples

    Another Droid BBS - Ph0rum - andr01d.zapto.org - telnet 9999
    Archaic Binary BBS - forum - bbs.archaicbinary.net - ssh 22

I'm sure there are many more.
