I run a irc network along with my synch bbs, on seperate sister domains. I'v always wanted someway to have a irc bot display stats about the bbs. Say if new user signed up, someone posted something new on the forums, a new file was added to the library or even when someone logs in to the board.

Looks like someone already had a simular idea. I've seen this used for forum on a website. When ever someone posts a new topic or replies to an existing one. It notifies the set IRC Channel about that post.
Being the programming newbie, i have the slightest clue about Java. Anyone have any exp with this and making some type of notification system with this type of code?

You could catch Cyan on #Synchronet at irc.synchro.net... he's written a bot JavaScript that runs from his BBS iirc.

I run a linux based IRCD on servers that i pay for on a monthyl basis. I am not using the built in IRCD that comes with synchronet. Would that have any effect on this?
