    Hi All..

    I know i can place a variable on my asc to show total number of files in the database..

    Is it possiblle to have a variable that shows the number of files in the area the user is currently in?

    Thanks

    the varible is in one of the newuser logon screens.
    and you can also see it in the synch system info area too.

    I think you mis-understood my message
    I know i can have a variable for the total number of files spaning the entire filebase.. eg" [SHIFT 2]TFILE[SHIFT 2] Note: "Shift 2" is the @ symbol.

    Im after a variable that will show the total number of files in the current area only.

    Eg: General FIles = 100 Files
    Communication = 50 Files
    etc etc

    Thanks

    I don't think there is one, I'm afraid. Anyone wanna code up an (a)EXEC solution?

    I know the only way i can see how many files are in an area
    is to list the areas.. So it is possible somehow..

    I don't think there is. Maybe you could do something like open the
    directory and count the files in it, but yeeeeeeechhh!

    There is currently no @-code for that (assuming that's what you mean by "variable").
