There is something to be said for working on Argus or taurus too since those mailers can work for anyone needing a mailer.
Yea, not all of us can run D'Bridge, and Internet Rex is starting to
fall apart after 10 years plus of neglect. Make the mailer able to
handle different outbounds and I think it will be a success.

So, you've got binkit (if you're running Synchronet),
Taurus/Argus/Radius, and binkd. As long as you're OK with just
running binkp, I think each have their advantages - and T/A/R doesn't
seem to have any serious bugs that I saw.

Irex used to do FTP and email, that's why I used it way back when
(still have a license for it, too!) It's a shame it's starting to
    fall behind.

Irex also does binkp. The binkd daemon eats a lot of memory, though, but
it can still do outbounds ok (or it could last I used it, which was earlier this year).

    binkd memory usage is negliable.

Sorry, I meant that the *IREX* binkd daemon eats a lot of memory, at least under OS/2.

The stand-alone binkd daemons running under linux have been easy on memory
    here also.
