For Mexican "fast food," we only have Taco Bell. When I first moved here, we only had Taco John's which, IMHO, is better. After a trip to California, I wish we had Del Taco (which, IMHO, is more like Taco John's) or King Taco. King Taco is awesome.
Ive lived in areas with a large hispanic population and have been
fortunate to have taco trucks and taquerias with wonderful, authentic
mexican food.
Back before Pepsi-co bought out A&W we had the drive up car services, Girls on rollerskates would bring the food out to your car. A&W was real good back then.
I don't remember that, though A&W was never very common where I live. I thin there are only 2 A&W locations in my area, and they're both combined with KFC

pretty good -- very much unlike the overbreaded stuff you might find in an LJS in the 1990s.

I did not realize they were affiliated. I, too, would have similar concerns
IMHO, they seemed to mess the food up less with Taco Bell and Pizza Hut than they did the others, although I missed the sit-down Pizza Hut experience for several years after most of them went to delivery only.

IMO, LJS uses far too much breading on their chicken and fish.
We have a couple of pizza places that capture the old-school feel - dark wood pitchers of soda and beer, carafes of wine, plaid tablecloths covered in clea plastic. Shakers of crushed red papper flakes and grated parmesan cheese.
I think the Round Table Pizzas near us still have dine-in service.
